PRAMS Report Highlights2007 DataThe 2007 Hawaii Pregnancy Risk Assessment and Monitoring Survey (PRAMS) reports were expanded to include more dimensions and health indicators. The new dimensions include:
o Poverty Level o Income (2000-2003) and Income (2004-2008) o Married Indicator o Birth Weight o Smoke 3rd Trimester o Smoke Before Pregnancy o WIC During Pregnancy
• Breastfeeding initiation • Discuss breastfeeding with Health Care Worker (HCW) during Prenatal Care (PNC) • Sleeping position • Discussion of physical abuse • Physical abuse by husband/partner12 month before pregnancy • Physical abuse by husband/partner during pregnancy • Unintended pregnancy (live birth) (National Definition) • Coverage for delivery • Coverage for PNC • Discuss HIV testing with Health Care Worker (HCW) during Prenatal Care (PNC) • Discussion of seat belt use • Entry into PNC • Getting PNC as early as wanted • Insurance prior to pregnancy (Medicaid/QUEST) • Insurance prior to pregnancy (non Medicaid/QUEST) • Maternal morbidities req 1+ night hospital • Participation in WIC during pregnancy • Pregnancy confirmation after the first trimester • Stressors during the 12 months before pregnancy • Binge drinking 3 months before pregnancy • Drinking alcohol 3 months before pregnancy • Drinking alcohol last 3 months of pregnancy • Illicit drug use 1 month before pregnancy • Illicit drug use in pregnancy • Discussion of effects of smoking • Num cigs smoked per average day before pregnancy • Num cigs smoked per average day last 3 months of pregnancy • Num cigs smoked per average day now • Smoke now (3-6 mo after birth) • Smoking 3 months before pregnancy
