Healthy People 2020

Overview

Healthy People provides science‐based, 10‐year national objectives for disease prevention and health promotion for all Americans. Healthy People 2020 is a comprehensive set of objectives and targets to be achieved by the year 2020. These allow communities to assess their health status and build an agenda for health improvement.

This site has detailed reports for 80 different HP2020 objectives across 30 topic areas.  These reports present Hawaii data broken down by many geographic, economic, and demographic factors, including Hawaii-specific race/ethnicity categories.  For a more contextualized view of the data, check out the Healthy People 2020 Tracker on our sister site – HawaiiHealthMatters.org.  In a glimpse, users can see how the state is doing for nearly 30 different Healthy People 2020 objectives.
