Reports in this section are organized according to data providers. Currently, there are six data providers in the HHDW and within each data provider, the reports are further categorized into subject areas, like chronic diseases, healthy lifestyles, etc. In some cases the data are subcategorized further (eg, under chronic diseases there are asthma, diabetes, hypertension, etc).

BRFSS (Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System)
Collects information on behavioral risk factors known to be associated with chronic diseases.

HHS (Hawaii Health Survey)
Collects information from Hawaii’s population regarding chronic diseases,
weight status, and demographics.

PRAMS (Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System)
Gathers information to identify and monitor maternal experiences and
behaviors before and during pregnancy, and during the first months of
the infant’s life.

YRBS (Youth Risk Behavior Survey)
Monitors health risks among youth and young adults – behaviors that
contribute to unintentional injuries and violence; tobacco use; alcohol
and other drug use; sexual behaviors; unhealthy dietary behaviors and
physical inactivity.

YTS (Hawaii Youth Tobacco Survey)
Provides comprehensive information about tobacco use among youth and young adults.

Vital Statistics
Birth – Holds vital information about the baby, mother, and father like
birth weight, facility and ethnicity.
Death – Contains information about deaths in Hawaii like cause of death, age,
geography, date, facility, gender, and race-ethnicity; includes Fetal
Death and Intentional Termination of Pregnancy (ITOPS) data.

Within each data provider section, more detailed documentation is available on data and reporting methodology and tools used for data collection. All reports have contact information for comments/feedback.
